As of May 1, Memorial Health facilities are now out of network for certain Cigna plans after the two sides did not reach a contract agreement by the April 30 deadline.
Cigna said HCA Georgia, which owns Memorial Health and is part of one of the nation’s largest for-profit hospital systems, sought contract changes that would increase health care costs for patients in the Savannah area. Cigna also notes notes that individual/family plans (policies purchased either on or off the health care exchange) are not impacted.
WTOC has reached out to Memorial Health for comment.
