The contract between Alaska Regional Hospital (owned by HCA Healthcare) and Premera BCBS of Alaska is scheduled to expire on September 30, 2026. If the parties do not enter into a new contract, this means that care received at Alaska Regional Hospital and its affiliates will be out-of-network for Premera BCBS members beginning October 1, 2026.
Alaska Regional Hospital has not issued a statement.
Premera BCBS states that they have been attempting to negotiate since January 2026 and have only recently received a response from HCA Healthcare.
