The contracts between Northwell Health and Fidelis Care are currently scheduled to expire as follows:
- Expiring June 30, 2026: Wellcare Medicare HMO, PPO, and PFFS plans
- Expiring July 15, 2026: Fidelis Care Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, HARP, MLTC, Medicare (a/k/a Wellcare by Fidelis Care), and Marketplace (a/k/a Ambetter from Fidelis Care)
Negotiations are ongoing. Both Fidelis Care and Northwell Health have established microsites for affected patients.
New York law allows for a 60-day cooling-off period for hospitals following the end of a provider contract. However, the cooling-off period does not necessarily apply to outpatient providers (although individual agreements may vary). Patients potentially affected by this dispute should contact their providers prior to attending any scheduled visits or procedures on or after July 1.
