Cigna vs UCLA Health

The contract between UCLA Health and Cigna is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2026. Beginning on July 1, Cigna HMO and PPO members may face higher out-of-pocket costs when utilizing UCLA Health medical providers.

Negotiations are ongoing. Cigna members can receive care at UCLA Health before July 1 without changes.

However, Cigna has begun notifying HMO members about the need to change primary care providers (PCPs). In the event that a member is assigned a new PCP, that member will remain with the new PCP. If negotiations succeed, members may need to actively request reassignment back to their former UCLA Health PCPs.
